Michel Duc

Michel DucLecturer

Michel Duc is a graduate engineer from the École Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques (Nancy, France) and has a PhD in Material Science from the University of Montpellier (ENSCM, Montpellier, France). He also holds a post-doctoral research fellowship from the University of Pittsburg (Pennsylvania, USA).

He joined IFP School in January 2014 as a lecturer at the Center for Refining, Petrochemicals, Gas. On detachment from Total Refining & Chemicals, he coaches students, delivers specific courses and coordinates teaching units mostly for the Polymers & Processes master program.

Michel Duc has been working for almost 15 years in the petrochemical industry as a R&D engineer and project manager for developing new polymer materials and processes.

He was initially hired by Elf Aquitaine as a lab manager delivering technical support to polymer production units and new product developments to plastics business units. He subsequently managed prospective research groups within Total’s petrochemical branch, with the mission of developing technical roadmaps and guiding the execution of various projects. As a project manager, he set up flexible task-forces interacting closely with internal and external experts worldwide. He also coordinated joint-developments with universities and third party companies.
