Aptiv, formerly Delphi, is a company specialising in the design and manufacture of automotive equipment that was split from General Motors on 20 May 1999. Its headquarters are located in the city of Troy, Michigan.

Delphi is one of the largest manufacturers in its sector and employs, in 2012, approximately 104,000 employees worldwide (185,000 in 2005) including 18,900 in the United States (50,000 in 2005). The group operates on 167 sites around the world, participates in 41 joint ventures, 53 purchasing groups and 33 technical centres in 38 countries. In France, its main competitors are Bosch and Valeo.
