Independent oil and gas company Perenco announces a change at the head of the company.

Armel Simondin, a graduate of IFP School's Economics and Business Management program (class of 1996), will succeed Benoît de la Fouchardière, also an IFP School graduate (Développement et exploitation des gisements, class of 1997), as CEO as of March 15, 2024.

Benoît de la Fouchardière hands over Perenco's operational management after eight successful years, despite difficult times such as the lower Brent price environment and the pandemic. He will join the Board of Perenco Group and take the lead of Dixstone.

Armel Simondin brings extensive experience in the oil & gas industry, having started his career at Total (now TotalEnergies) before joining Perenco in 2011. Mr. Simondin was previously General Manager of Perenco Cameroon, prior to which he served as the Group's Drilling Manager.

IFP School congratulates him on his appointment!
