Bernard Clément, a graduate of IFP School's Geophysics program (the predecessor of the Petroleum Geosciences program, class of 1982), has just been appointed Director General of EVOLEN, the French association of companies and professionals working in the energy sector.
Mr. Clément, 62 years old, took up his position on May 1st and succeeds Christophe Remoué.
Mr. Clément spent his entire career at Total, where he was from 2017 to 2020, Vice President of the Caspian and Southern Europe geographical area for Exploration-Production.
Between 2012 and 2016, he helped create and led Total's New Energies division and the development of solar activities. In this capacity, he was a member of the Board of Directors of SunPower.
During his career, he was Director of Global Gas Infrastructure and responsible for Exploration-Production activities in various countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. He also held various responsibilities in the Group's strategy department and in the Natural Gas department.
