On June 27, students in the Petroleum Engineering and Project Development (PEPD) and Subsurface Technologies for Sustainable Energies (STSE) programs took part in a serious game designed by Mathilde Adelinet, lecturer-researcher, and Frédérique Fournier, director of the Georesources and Energy Center. The aim of the game? Play a role (citizen, member of parliament, company, etc.) to debate a project to build a geothermal energy site in a town near Paris.
Prior to the debate, the students were introduced to behavioral economics to help them better understand the expectations of their respective roles in the debate, and to better understand the opinions of others.
The students were then divided into several groups representing the various stakeholders, and prepared concrete arguments for the debate.
An academic year that ended with a lively debate, rich in learning, exchange and good humor!
Many thanks to Chris Ouangraoua (IFPEN), Hugo Duwiquet (ENGIE) and Laurent Escaré (Storengy) for sharing their expertise with our students.
