4 March 2020
2020 Conference on direct-injection two-stroke engines

The International Conference on direct-injection two-stroke engines, held on 13 and 14 February at IFP School, brought together around 100 professionals of the automotive sector from 16 different countries.

Organized by the Center for Powertrains and Sustainable Mobility, with the help of five students from the Powertrain Engineering program, this second edition addressed 2-stroke technologies and techniques, from small handheld tools to large marine engines, drones, off-road and recreational vehicles, range extenders for electric vehicles, automotive applications and commercial vehicles.

Around 40 students from various French engineering schools and IFP School also attended the event. The 23 presentations given over two days were well received.  3 of them were very much appreciated:

  • "A 2-Stroke Chainsaw with Injection" by Wolfgang Zahn – Stihl;
  • "The 850 cc BRP-Rotax 2-Stroke DI Snowmobile Engine" by Bruno Schuemacher & Sylvain Matte – BRP;
  • "An Overview of the Evinrude E-TEC DI Outboard Engine" by George Broughton – BRP Marine Group.

See you in 2022 for the next edition!
