A team of five students from IFP School's Petroleum Geosciences and Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering programs has moved to the semi-finals of the 2020  Laurie Dake Challenge (formely known as FIELD Challenge), organized by the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).

Named "PetroMalm", the team includes Giuseppe Amendola, Federica Lupone, Corentin Cochard, Fadi Mansour and Ahamat Mbodou Moustapha. The team will have to face 12 other competitors to reach the final, which will take place on June 8th in Amsterdam during the 82nd Annual EAGE Conference and Exhibition.

For this first round, the team had only 8 weeks to provide an assessment of the Ormen Lange Norwegian field based on data provided by Shell.

Each year, 10 student teams from the EAGE branches around the world face the Laurie Dake Challenge. Participants have to analyse and put forward a field development plan, using a common data set provided by a partner company.
