IFP students in Brussels

The students of the Energy and Markets Program and IFP School members of the student section of the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) visited Brussels from 10 to 12 June. Objective: to gain an overview of the energy challenges and policies at European level, in relation to the industries in which they will operate.

They were welcomed to the European Commission for a fact-finding visit, by Kristina Jankovich and Jean-Claude Schwartz, both policy managers in the Energy Directorate General, and Quentin Dupriez, policy manager - climate change and energy in the Climate Action Directorate General. The students also met the alumni economists for a round-table discussion on the energy-climate challenges of industry with the European Union, in the presence of François-Régis Mouton, director of European affairs of the IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers), the new president of the Association Amicale des Alumni d'IFP School. The trip ended with a meeting with Vincent Dufour, EDF director of European affairs, at the headquarters of Foratom, the professional association representing the nuclear industry in Europe.
