Claude Núñez was appointed Director of the Powertrains and Sustainable Mobility Center on June 1, 2024.

Claude holds a degree in Engineering and a Master of Science in Fluid Mechanics from Simón Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela. He is also a graduate of IFP School's Internal Combustion Engines program (class of 1998), which is now the Energy and Powertrains program.

He began his career in 1999 with Peugeot Citroën (PSA) at the La Garenne-Colombes R&D center, working on diesel engines. For ten years, he held various technical positions in the expertise department, specializing in combustion modeling and simulation, control command, after-treatment and supercharging. He then took charge of a team of around thirty engineers and technicians for the development of thermal and hybrid powertrains for worldwide applications.

In 2007, Claude Núñez moved to Argentina to head the diesel engine division for South America at PSA. His mission was to develop the first "low-cost" engine project carried out outside Europe to meet the needs of emerging countries. This period was marked by the recruitment, training and management of some forty young engineers and non-engine technicians, making them operational in less than 12 months. This experience reinforced his passion for training.

Returning to France in 2012, Claude embarked on his entrepreneurial career: he created his first start-up, Startup BLVD, in partnership with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). This due diligence platform aimed to carry out all technical, legal and financial checks for investors or acquirers prior to a transaction, minimizing risk and promoting lasting partnerships.

He then founded Autonect, a start-up dedicated to the development of automotive diagnostic software for fleet management companies.

In 2013, Claude joined IFP Training as a trainer. Three years later, he was appointed Director of the Powertrains & Sustainable Mobility Business Line. After ten years at IFP Training, the opportunity to return to his alma mater presented itself, and he joined IFP School, motivated by the prospect of contributing to the training of tomorrow's engineers.

Claude Núñez brings to IFP School a wealth of industrial and entrepreneurial experience, combined with a passion for training and skills development in the field of powertrains and sustainable mobility.
