IFP School at the 2022 EVOLEN Days

Workshop on the new vectors for decarbonization and the transformation of industrial platforms

The 2022 EVOLEN Days brought together more than 1,000 participants on October 19 and 20, including IFP School. A look back at this event...

Christine Travers, Dean of the School, took part in the plenary session on October 19, devoted to skills and professions in the field of low-carbon energy.

In the afternoon of the same day, Arash Farnoosh, Supervisor of the Executive Master of Management in Energy program and holder of the "Electricity and Digital Transition" chair at IFP School, took part in a workshop on the new vectors for decarbonization and the transformation of industrial platforms.

This year, the School was again represented by numerous graduates who led and/or participated in a series of sessions and workshops.

Mr. Jean Cahuzac, President of EVOLEN and a graduate of the Forage-production program (class of 1977), gave the opening speech of the Days on October 19.

Then, Mr. Jean-Pascal Clémençon, Director of Strategies and Markets at TotalEnergies and a graduate of the former IFP School's Développement et exploitation des gisements (class of 1994), took part in the opening plenary session dedicated to the decarbonization of the energy sector. This plenary session was chaired by Florence Delprat-Jannaud, CO2 Coordinator at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) and co-holder of the CarMa chair at IFP School.

Later in the morning, Mr. Pierre Marion, Energy Transition Market Expert at IFPEN and a graduate of the former Raffinage et ingénierie program at IFP School (class of 1989), participated in a workshop on the multi-stream uses of e-fuels.

In parallel, Mr. Patrick Oberto, Associate at STRATLINE and graduate of the former Raffinage et génie chimique program of IFP School (class of 1973), facilitated the workshop entitled: "Filling up in 2040... What energy distribution on the road in 2040?

In the afternoon of this first day, Jean-Pierre Deflandre, Professor and co-holder of the CarMa chair at IFP School, chaired a workshop on the challenges of carbon storage, in which Elise Roc, Senior Business Development Advisor at Northern Lights Joint Venture and a graduate of the former IFP School Économie et gestion de l'entreprise program (class of 2003), participated.

Pauline Recher, Energy, Resources & Utilities Consultant at Sia Partners and recent graduate of the former IFP School Petroleum Economics and Management program (class of 2020), participated in a workshop on the perception and attractiveness of the energy sector.

The workshop "Drilling as a major and committed player in the energy transition" was chaired by Mr. Jean-Claude Choux, graduate of the Forage-production program (class of 1981) and President of the EVOLEN Well Drilling Committee. Mr. Sébastien Degroote, Drilling and Wells Manager at TotalEnergies and graduate of the DEG program (class of 2006), also participated.

Mr. Moez Ajmi, graduate of the Économie de l'énergie program (class of 2005) and Partner at Ernst & Young, and Mr. Bernard Clément, Managing Director of EVOLEN and graduate of the Géophysique program (class of 1982), launched the second day by presenting the EVOLEN EY Panorama.

In the afternoon, Judith Auphelle, QMS Manager / Skills Development Pilot / Project Business Referent at IFP Training and a graduate of the Développement et exploitation des gisements program (class of 1995), chaired the workshop "Attracting talent to the regions thanks to the challenges of decarbonization".

Finally, Mr. Jean-Hervé Morard, Purchasing, Projects and Equipment Director at TotalEnergies and graduate of the Développement et exploitation des gisements program (class of 1999), participated in the last plenary session of the event dedicated to the French offshore wind energy sector, which was moderated by Mr. Jean Cahuzac.
