Pascal Longuemare, Dean of IFP School, welcomes the 2024 intake

"You come from all over the world and represent over 40 different nationalities and cultures. With your different scientific backgrounds, your different areas of interest, you are willing to be players in the energy transition and, beyond that, in the ecological transition": this is how Pascal Longuemare, IFP School's brand-new Dean, began his address to his students.

On September 4, the new students of the class of 2024 joined the School's ten Specialized Engineering Graduate programs and the Advanced-master’s degree - Mastère Spécialisé® Geo Data Management for Energy Mix.

Following tradition, the students were welcomed in IFPEN's Dahlias amphitheatre, this time by Mélanie Bernard, IFP School's new Student and Alumni Relations Liaison. They then attended the Dean’s welcome speech.

After his speech, Marie de la Villèsbrunne and Jérémy Demolliens presented the Lab e-novTM, IFP School's digital culture laboratory, and all the digital tools and equipment available to students throughout their studies, as well as the SMILE department, in charge of the School's IT and logistics resources.

Two students from the class of 2023, Anne Boisjot and Antoine Barraud, also took the floor to encourage newcomers to join the Student Office (BDE) and develop social, cultural and sporting activities for the coming year.

The morning ended with a lovely breakfast provided by the School. Students then returned to their centers to meet their directors, program supervisors and teaching assistants.

In the afternoon, apprentice students were invited to an information meeting, hosted by Gilles Azencott, Director of Studies and Apprenticeship. At the same time, Maria Thirouard, Supervisor of the Powertrain Engineering program, organized a meeting dedicated to sponsored work-study students.

The entire IFP School team is looking forward to welcoming students back for a year full of projects and events!
