Dear alumni,

I hope that you and your families are in good health.

2020, a very unusual year, is drawing to a close, and will admittedly not be missed.

It has, however, provided an opportunity to highlight the great responsiveness, adaptability and professionalism of our School, naturally through its staff, but also of its students and alumni.

We have taken a giant step forward on the path to modernization, one of our strategic thrusts, as can be seen from the September return to school in phygital mode (a word that was completely unknown a few months ago!) and “field” internships in virtual reality.

What a pleasure it is to see students again, both face-to-face, in strict compliance with health rules, and remotely for all those who were unable to join us on 1 September. Everyone is here now and we look forward to breathing life back into the School as soon as possible.

Notwithstanding the crisis, we welcomed a fine class on 1 September, thanks to the unwavering support of a large number of our industry partners.

The fundamental changes to the School are also continuing; I’ll let you discover the changes in the Georesources and Energy Center.

I also welcome the initiative IFP School Voices, which is intended to strengthen the ties between us, and give you the possibility of sharing topical issues among alumni but also with students, via monthly webinars.

The success of the first two issues demonstrates, if proof were needed, your commitment to the School, and that is heartwarming indeed.

Our biggest challenge at the end of this year is of course finding employment for the graduating class of 2020. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are aware of job offers that could suit our students, which is a fine way to make the School’s solidarity value a reality.

I wish you happy holidays while taking good care of yourself and your families, and let us begin 2021 full of hope for the future of the School!

I hope that you enjoy this issue.
