Dear Graduates,

The new academic year is now well underway at the School! On September 1, we were delighted to welcome the Class of 2027, with nearly 400 new students taking their first steps on campus. This new class joins an ever-richer community, driven by exchanges between generations and by the bonds that unite us well beyond the years spent at IFP School.

This new academic year also brings several new developments that we are pleased to share with you in this back-to-school newsletter.

First of all, in light of the rapid rise of artificial intelligence in teaching and professional practices, I wanted the School to adopt an AI charter for students as well as administrative and teaching staff. The aim is to support the responsible use of AI by giving everyone a framework to make the most of it, while upholding the standards of education, integrity, and responsibility that lie at the heart of our educational project.

Another new feature on campus: a new electrical engineering laboratory that further enhances our teaching facilities. This space will allow our students to develop their experimental skills and gain greater hands-on exposure to the technologies and challenges that are transforming the engineering professions today.

Finally, for the very first time, we have chosen to showcase in this newsletter a scientific article based on research conducted at IFP Energies nouvelles on the aging of plastics. This initiative once again illustrates the close ties between the School and IFPEN’s R&I, as well as the way in which research helps shape our teaching and inform our thinking on major environmental challenges.

Through these three topics, we wish to share one and the same ambition with you: to ensure the School evolves in step with scientific, technological, and societal transformations, while remaining true to its educational mission and to its community.

I hope you enjoy reading this issue and that you find in it plenty to fuel your curiosity and your exchanges with the School.
